Trailing into silence written by Amin Jan Sayed
There hurries my pen
over the silence again
over this sweet
sorrowful sheet.
My candles are burning down low
flickering shadows of doubt come and go
the answers I seek
just will not let me speak.
But what in the world should you say?
The day-dreams you live on are not from today,
your bittersweet doubts won´t go away.
He runs to the bridge in the night, dares to cry,
dares to whisper the words that seem to have died
But since nobody´s there to just hear
what regret or what fear
he might yearn to tell oh,
his words trail away.
There hurries my pen
over the silence again
and though the words live
my voice is beginning to give.
The murmur of people next door
the shades of the darkest nights upon the floor
I struggle for air,
wish I could mouth a prayer.
But what in the world should you say?
The day-dreams you live on are not from today,
your bittersweet doubts won´t go away.
He runs to the bridge in the night, dares to cry,
dares to whisper the words that seem to have died
But since nobody´s there to just hear
what regret
or what fear
he might yearn
to tell oh,
his words trail away into silence.
Candles down low!
